Are there high-performing construction materials that are sustainable and can contribute to net zero carbon targets? Three manufacturers joined us to show how they are leading the way.
With a distinct lack of low-carbon materials to meet net zero carbon targets, and a fundamental need for sustainable building goods, these Scottish-based pioneers shared their journey in producing greener commodities.
In the first part of the show, Lucy Black from Kenoteq introduced delegates to the world’s most sustainable low-carbon brick. Sam Baumber, Co-Founder of IndiNature, then explained how UK grown and made bio-based insulation for roofs, floors and walls is helping to decarbonise construction.
Finally, Alasdair Campbell, owner & founder of the Isle of Skye Paint Company, revealed how the colours from nature’s playground on Skye inspired him to produce natural sustainable paint, made with organic seaweed
As well as finding out where the sustainable bricks, insulation and paints are used today, delegates also had the chance to get their hands on all the products and discuss with Lucy, Sam and Alasdair the challenges they’ve had to overcome.
